The Digital Standards Organization is a grass-roots network of open standards activists that was built in 2007-08. Digistan's main work to date has been the Hague Declaration, which uses international law on human rights to back a call for open standards in e-government, and the creation of a peer-to-peer standards development framework (COSS). Digistan consists of numerous websites, including several national ones, and has affiliates such as CROS, the Polish Coalition for Open Standards. It is run by an 'eboard' mailing list.
